Mr George Morgan has been a consultant gynaecologist since 2000, urogynaecology since 2012. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, a former RCOG tutor, and has taught laparoscopic surgical technique to other surgeons in the UK, Latvia, Belgium, Greece, Sudan and Ghana.

Most of the appointment is conversation. What the symptom is, how long it's been going on, and how much it's affecting your life. Bring a list if it helps — people forget things.

An examination, only if it's needed and only when you're ready
Not every first appointment involves one. If it does, a chaperone is offered as standard and you can decline or stop at any point.

You're told what it is, in plain English
Including how common it is, and what happens if you decide to do nothing at all — which is a legitimate option for most of these conditions.

You go away and think about it
Nothing is booked on the day unless you want it to be. You'll have a written summary of the options and a number to call when you've decided.
